Oh my! Three weeks since my last post... again!
Well, November and December (so far) have been extremely intense.
Davíð turned 10 Nov 22nd and we had invided 60 people (yes 60!) over for the birthday party. Of course I baked like crazy, both refrigerators full of cakes but the night before the birthday both Davíð and Andrea (11) got the stomach flu! So we had to delay the party. The whole week after the kids had midterm tests and the house went upside down, books and paper everywhere and we stayed up late every day helping them remember their notes from geography, science, natural history, english, grammar etc.
Finally, Friday came again and we had invited everybody again to the birthday party, take #2! But the same morning the stomach flu came back, this time my husband!! Not kidding!!! I had filled the fridges again with cakes and there was nothing to do but to EAT it myself, the others had the flu, remember! (I need to get the flu to get some of these calories out!!) - Birthday party delayed again!
Finally we managed to celebrate the party last Tuesday after I had baked three times. The guests were doubtful until the minute the party started :)
Sorry, I have to show you the cakes, after all I baked them three times!
Without any warning December is here with it's dark days. I hate taking pictures for my blog, IF I get a decent daylight I only get if for maybe two hours and then it gets grey and dark again.
I'm truly thankful for all the Christmas lights during all the darkness, the darkness can be really cozy too.
It is freezing outside -10°c / 14°F now but -16°c / 3°F last night. I know some of you might be thinking "what, is that news when she lives in ICELAND?" - but this is realy COLD for Reykjavik winter :) - We have set the thermostat to the top but the house is still freezing cold and we are all wearing our lopi sweaters and lopi socks inside, brrrrr....
Luckily, this little cutie has his own lopi sweater, he even fell asleep in it :)
He turned 8 months Dec. 2nd, phew he sure grows fast
The sisters, Andrea (11) and Arna (5) finished this semester's ballet with a superb show and things are slowly calming down as the kids' hobbies are taking christmas brake... thank god!
Who wouldn't want a ballerina kiss?!
